Chirped Grating Delay and Spectrum Measurement
Chirp grating dispersion compensation technology is the main way to solve the dispersion problem in optical fiber communication, and its delay characteristic is the main factor that affects the dispersion compensation effect. The delay curve of chirp grating is an important basis for evaluation of its dispersion compensation effect.
The delay curve and spectrum of the chirp grating measured by OCI1500 are shown below.
Figure1 The delay curve of the chirp grating
Figure2 The spectrum of the chirp grating
Dispersion compensation bandwidth of the chirped grating is 35nm, and the relationship between delay and wavelength is GD=0.005668λ-7.56. The jitter on the delay curve is very small which shows the chirp grating can satisfy the demand of dispersion compensation technology.
